Scarlet King, a rising senior at Penobscot Valley High School (shown operating a forwarder in the photo above and featured in a Channel 7 news story), and Wyatt Ladd, a rising senior at Penquis Valley High School (shown in the photo below), are spending six weeks this summer at Katahdin Iron Works, learning about forestry stewardship and careers in the logging industry. Students interested in participating in next summer's program are encouraged to reach out to their school counselors for more information.
